hypersensitive

Hypersensitivity will be my downfall.

I have heard, since I was a child, that I am too sensitive.

Maybe the world is too harsh, coarse, abrasive, and insensitive.

I know it is a problem. I can't change the way I am, though it is tough to be this sensitive in our modern-day world.

I wish I could not feel, and turn a blind eye to the suffering of my fellow man; but alas, it is not so. I care about people, despite them not caring about me.

The eternal dilemma; am I wrong, or is the world wrong in the way it describes and treats people?
